Client-name GIC distribution

Advised clients, in their own name, delivered complete.

EasyGIC brings a client, a verified, trusted and AML-trained advisor and your bank to one record. The application reaches you signed, identity-verified and screened. The deposit is made to you, by the client, in the client's name. Nothing is pooled and no money touches the platform.

Who does what

Three parties. Each keeps its own job.

The bank is the issuer. The dealer is the firm the advisor belongs to. The platform never lets one act for the other.

Issues and holds the deposit

The bank

Accepts or refuses with a reason, asks for more, confirms funding, pays interest, pays out, renews, completes transfers and settles estates. Every interest outcome is yours; the platform records what you paid, it never computes an entitlement and holds you to it.

Owns the deposit

The client

The GIC is registered to the client at your bank. The client chooses the product, commits, signs, pays you directly and sets the maturity instruction.

Advises and is accountable

The dealer

A verified, trusted and AML-trained advisor may start a purchase, which the client must approve before signing. The dealer's compliance staff work the holds, approvals and sanctions cases; the final decision is the bank's unless legally delegated to us. There is no override of the purchase gate for anyone.

Never touches money

Funding goes to you

The client pays the issuer directly. The platform has no client cash, no trust account and no settlement role.

One door for every change

The state machine

A GIC moves between states through one door. Every move records who asked, from what state, to what state and why, with the role that was allowed to make it.

What EasyGIC does

Identity, signatures, records

Identity verification, screening, electronic signature, maturity notices, deadlines and the audit trail, for every GIC, across every issuer the client holds.

Lifecycle

From a term the client chooses to a certificate you issue.

Filled circles are your steps. Everything in between is recorded and deadline-chased by the platform.

  1. Client

    Choose

Products you are registered to sell in the client's province. No rate is held before submission; a moved rate is shown and chosen again. Once submitted, the GIC carries its rate for life.

  2. Client and advisor

    Apply and sign

One verified profile. An advisor-started purchase needs the client's approval. Nothing reaches you until the application is signed, and no document goes out for signature while the client is restricted.

  3. Bank

    Accept

Accept, refuse with a reason, or ask for more. Accepting re-checks that the client is still eligible. Cancellation is free for the client, the advisor, you, or an expired deadline until funding.

  4. Bank

    Confirm funding

You confirm the deposit landed, even while the GIC is held for compliance, since the money arrived either way. Funding earns the advisor's commission; clawbacks remain your matter.

  5. Platform

    Run to maturity

Two regulatory maturity notices, a standing instruction the client may change until the deadline, and on the date the platform matures the GIC and applies the instruction. Then you pay out, renew or transfer.

client, dealer or platform the bank

Maturity

Each notice is sent durably and recorded once it has gone. No instruction means the GIC closes and pays out. A GIC left matured with nobody acting becomes a work item for the advisor and the dealer after two weeks.

T minus 21 daysFirst notice T minus 5 daysSecond notice MaturityPay out, renew at the current or guaranteed renewal rate, or transfer. A renewal is a new GIC linked to the old one, with a grace period.

Early redemption

Refused automatically when the product is not cashable, the cashable-after period has not passed, or the GIC is inside its lock-in. Otherwise you approve in full or in part, or deny. The penalty is the one in the product's breakage schedule, applied by the platform, never typed by an operator.

Death and estates

A death notification from the advisor, the dealer or your bank behaves the same from each: every non-terminal GIC goes on hold, each issuer is told, and you settle the estate. Deadlines on anything that waits are chased with warnings first.

Compliance and AML

Verified once, screened before the first dollar, watched after.

Identity verification and screening are separate systems with separate records. A client's application reaches you only after both have passed, and a client under a restriction cannot buy, sign or be paid out until the case is resolved.

Identity verification

  • Government photo ID with a live selfie and liveness check, performed at onboarding before any purchase.
  • Extracted name, date of birth and address are compared to the client's profile; a contradiction lowers the score and routes the file to review instead of passing it.
  • A connected bank account adds a name match against the profile: verified, partial or mismatch.
  • Every signal and every decision is kept in an audit log that your reviewers can rely on.

Screening

  • Sanctions, politically exposed persons and watchlist screening before the first purchase, and again on a monitoring cadence set by the client's risk.
  • A PEP self-declaration at onboarding, cross-referenced against the screening result; a discrepancy is itself a finding.
  • One compliance case per client: screening hits and self-declaration share the same file, so nothing is reviewed twice or missed between two.
  • Enhanced due diligence with a recorded risk rating, a reviewer's triage, and a monitoring schedule that follows from the rating. A foreign PEP is always high risk.
Finding What happens to purchases What happens to existing GICs Who works the case on our side
Sanctions match Blocked All on hold Nothing is paid out on any path until the case resolves. Dealer compliance prepares the file for your decision
Foreign PEP Blocked until the case resolves Keep running Dealer compliance with senior sign-off, for your decision
Domestic PEP Allowed Keep running Advisor review, case stays open for monitoring
Identity needs review Blocked until verified None yet Advisor or dealer review

The bank provides the final decision, unless legally delegated to us. Our side works the case and brings it to you complete. The client is never told why: where a compliance decision blocks someone, the platform shows a neutral sentence and the advisor's name, nothing more, so a person under review is not tipped off. A hold remembers where the GIC was and returns it there when released.

Your portal

What your team does, and sees.

Decide on applications

Accept, refuse with a reason, or ask for more. The client's eligibility is re-checked at acceptance. The signed application, identity result and screening status are on the record you open.

Confirm money and pay it

Confirm funding, record interest paid, pay out, renew or complete a transfer. The client's and the advisor's views update from the same record, so there is one version of each GIC.

Set what you sell where

Products carry their term, cashability, breakage schedule and the provinces you are registered in. A client cannot be offered what you may not sell them.

Questions issuers ask

Straight answers.

Who is the depositor?

The client, in their own name, at your bank. There is no nominee and no omnibus account. Your deposit records show the person.

Who performs know-your-client, and who decides?

Identity verification and screening run on the platform before the first purchase, and the verified data and results travel with the application you receive. You provide the final decision on what they raise, unless legally delegated to us; you remain responsible to your regulator.

Does money pass through EasyGIC?

No. The client pays you directly. The platform never receives, holds or moves funds, and it never computes an interest entitlement; it records what you paid.

What if the rate changes?

No rate is held before the client submits. If your rate moves while they are choosing, they are shown the new one and choose again. Once submitted, the GIC carries its own rate for its whole life.

What about a client who is restricted after we issued?

A sanctions case puts every GIC on hold and nothing is paid out on any path until it resolves. A foreign-PEP case blocks new purchases and leaves existing GICs running. You can still confirm funding on a held GIC, since the money has arrived either way.

How is a change to a GIC recorded?

Through one door, the state machine. Each transition records who asked, the previous state, the new state, the reason and the role that was allowed to make it. Concurrent changes are rejected rather than overwritten.
